As the final quarter of 2020 unfolded, the social networking landscape on iOS in the United States saw varied patterns in user engagement and financial metrics. Here's a concise look at how five prominent apps fared during this period, according to Sensor Tower's data.

BIGO LIVE-Live Stream, Go Live experienced a revenue increase, with figures climbing from approximately $1.6M in late September to nearly $1.9M by the end of December. The app's downloads saw an upward trend, starting at around 82K and peaking at 145K in mid-December before settling at approximately 128K. Weekly active users grew consistently, from 332K to 439K over the quarter.

Plenty of Fish Dating App showed fluctuating revenue, with a high of over $1M in late September, dipping to around $784K in early December, and recovering to about $820K by the year's end. Downloads remained relatively stable, with a slight increase from 68K to 76K. Active users peaked at 720K in early November but saw a decline to around 669K by the close of Q4.

IMVU: 3D Avatar Creator & Chat revenue peaked at over $1.1M in the weeks leading to Christmas, contrasting with around $857K at the quarter's start. Downloads fluctuated, with a significant rise in December, reaching over 121K. The weekly active users count saw a dip in November but rose again to around 671K by December's end.

Tagged Dating App: Meet & Chat generated revenue with a noticeable peak of $862K in mid-October and ending the quarter at around $844K. Downloads showed modest growth, from 22K to 25K. The app's active users saw a slight increase, from 65K in late September to roughly 69K by the end of December.

Facebook, despite being a long-established player, saw its revenue fluctuate, with an early October high of $733K and a close of approximately $840K. Downloads surged to 585K in late October and ended at around 619K. Weekly active users showed a general upward trend, starting at 112M and peaking at 117M in early December before a slight dip to 116M.
